nike Yardrunners 3.0
I photographed Nike’s Yardrunners 3.0 campaign on the beach in Los Angeles, capturing a chapter of a broader initiative that celebrates the spirit, style, and influence of HBCU culture.
Nike’s Yardrunners program — now in its third major evolution — was created to honor Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the people who “started on the yard,” elevating their stories, creativity, and legacy through product, storytelling, and community programming. The 3.0 iteration expanded on this mission by co-creating culturally relevant product, awarding scholarships, activating on campuses, and spotlighting HBCU alumni who continue to forge impact beyond the yard.
The beach-based campaign imagery blends dynamic location, intentional composition, and authentic moments to reflect the confidence and connectivity of the Yardrunners movement — a celebration of heritage, ambition, and the next generation of cultural influence. Working with Nike on this iconic backdrop was about visually translating the energy of a community that carries its legacy forward with pride.
